So last week ended so well and two weeks of living with these kids resulted in the most amount of tears i have ever seen, they were just bawling all over the place poor Noah gave me the biggest hug and my face was dripping after and then....we got on the bus to go with the kids to the train station and the whole bus was crying boys girls 15 year old big strong guys it was insane!!! But they were amazing kids, on the last night they all eat a plate full of vegitables "just for you Aqua" and Steve said " tonight i speak only english just for you Aqua" broke my little heart!!!
So then Blue and i hopped on a train with a few kids to PAris and let me tell you that was a treat I hope you never have to transport 11 children by train in a full car with all their luggage...it was a struggle especially since we only had 6 assigned seats!!!
We managed to get them all off at the other end and found their parents and then ran into a NACEL person who was supposed to meet all the parents and then the kids could leave oppps....then Blue and i went to a Kebab place and enjoyed a lovely real meal!!! Then we trekked out to the new hotel that Nacel has because it was Bastille day, Fete de la Nation and our normal hotel was booked solid! It was out in the suburbs but it was a really nice old hotel! But Caff told us that we could only stay one night out of three on the NACEL pay and so we freaked and asked the hotel man if we could pay and he kindly showed us the fax from NACEL which indicated that we infact had all three nights paid for SCORE
So we settled in and then i whined until Blue agreed to come and see Harry Potter with me!!! So off we went to the Latin Quarter Odeon stop for those who know and we managed to get tickets for a show starting 5 min later it was the original version which meant it was in English with French subtitles...however we were so very clearly the only North Americans there we were howling at parts and no one else was even giggling.....but the movie was phenom im going to see it again without pesky subtitles i kept reading them by accident!!!!
So then we went back out to our hotel miles away and slept in the next morning then we went got some chinese food which is amazing in Paris i dont know what im going to do when i get home and then we found this amazing store selling high end labels for dirt cheap i mean i got a Ralph Lauren top its a little bit revealing but hell it was 10€ i got a skirt for 6,50€ it was insane!!!!
Then we chillsed and drank wine and then went out to enjoy Bastille...long story short Blue didnt really let us go anywhere but this one bar so i didnt get to see fireworks or anything......see me later about how angry i was....anyway i got a marriage proposal or rather got asked to drop off a resume to be the waiters wife...he's always wanted to live in Canada apparently and then as we stumbled out of that bar he kept yelling but you are so cute.....yikes
Then as we headed back to the metro we found out that the metro no long was running....so we could either take a 30€ cab or wait until 5:20 am when the metro started back up...guess what we picked....so there i am at Gare de Lyon trying to fall asleep with Blue smacking me proclaiming that we both couldnt sleep so neither could sleep.....mmm hmmm
So by the time the bloody trains came we got back to the hotel at 6:15am and somehow passed the same NACEL chick on the metro herding a bunch of kids to their train.....
Sunday i therefore slept until 2.....then i went exploring again....i got off at the Tuliaries stop and looked around the gardens and then started walking towards the Palais Royal and it took me a full 10 min of that wwalk to realize and remember that the Louvre was built into the Palais so i got very excited...and then Blue's camera batteries died...oh yes i forgot my camera...brillent.....so i booted it out to a little shop paid way too much for batteries and rushed back (reflecting on my haste i realize that really where would the louvre go in the 5 min i was gone...its been around for a while you know...) So picture piucture off i walk
I could see the Effile tower down the river and i thought hmmm that looks like a close walk....the tower is deceptivly tall and not as close as it looks
One and half hours later of dehydrated walking (along the Seine mind you but still it was well over 30° that day)
So off i trot thinking ohhh ill just walk down beside the river on the bike path....which incidentally didnt have regular intervels of stair cases resulting in a frantic search for a way out at one point....I then walked and walked and walked until i finally found the tower....i took pictures i looked at the lines...i contemplated climbing but the money issue popped up annd so i took a nice walk down the Champ de Mars instead!!! There were lots of people and kids swimming in the fountains...very surreal...then i decided i needed a drink....sooo i looked and looked but guess what...it was sunday nothing is open except for the stupidly expensive places....then i saw the dome of the Hotpial d....Where NApoleon is buried and in my dehydrated state my minda said you should go and see it...SO off i went i saw i took pictures then i decided enough was enough i needed food so i went in serach of a metro...think i could find it...NO
when i finally did the side of the track i needed didnt have a pop machine...what are the odds of that i ask you So off i went on the train i took it to the Champ D'Elysées got off waved at the Arch and sat down to Macdonalds...i know i know but i was desperate
Then for whatever reason possibly because i told Allison if i ever came back to PAris i would...i took the number 9 metro all the way out 20 stops to the Robspierre stop...just to say i did...turns out not such a nice area of Paris i was creeped out after running back into the station and forcing myself to go back out to take a picture for Allie i left and took the 20 stops back but got bored half way through got off took another line across the city and then back on the 9....after that i went back to the hotel and chilled all night and in the morning we checkled out went and had Starbucks in the LAtin Quarter and then made our way to the train station....Where the most exciting part of my day began
So we met the NACEL people who gave us our ticket but...the tivket only had one counselor on it...so he went off to buy us a new ticket but NACEL didnt want to pay for it so he said i need to pay and NACEL will give me the money later....So offf we went to get that done...the lady puts some strange thing on my card and then says oop nope sorry that train is now full...i was like UHHH NO NO you dont understand....yes she did and no the train was still full
So...back i went to tell BLUE and she was less than pleased at the last minute the NACEL guy was like k go go achet billet i was like okay okay so i tried again...nope sold out...next train left 3 hours later...so i got a ticket for that and just managed to run to the track in time to see the train pull out....
So the NACEL guy was like okay well good luck bye......so i got to sit in the Gare reading my book eating pringles and cursing NACEL until 5:54 at which point i got on the freaking train and was off to Macon where i was met by a taxi that took me to the camp...BUT i had missed the whole day and now i dont really know the kids all that well and tomorrow is my day off..bahahahahaha
Today i got trampled by children....we were playing SPUD everyone has a number and when a number is called that no one has you have to touch the ball...well 55 people playing the game and me getting to the ball second = pile up
So i for what ever reason decided to sit down so a kid or two sat on my back another on my neck and then another on my legs to the point where i thought my back was going to break...some lovely child that follows me around managed to take my glasses off i dont know how but i now have a child foot size bruise on my thigh...lovely
So things are interesting yikers

I adore the McDonalds on the Champs-Elysees. Can you say free, clean bathroom??? Best.
We walked from Musee d'Orsay to the Eiffel Tower one day, and it's not quite as far as the Louvre. I feel your pain. In contrast, the day I did that walk it was January. I don't know what weather would have been worse. haha
The fact that you spent so much time in Gare de Lyon makes me a little happy (except for the time wasting you had to do). That's the last place in Europe that I saw you, so it's very fitting for me... hahaha
your killing me Liz
Oh the ups and downs of your travels!!Try to stay in one piece
so you can walk on the plane and not packed in bits and stuffed in your suitcase flying cargo.
Sorry its my job to do the "mother"
thing.
Liz!!!! sorry i have been unable to comment on any of your recent blogs. i have been off on my own adventure in England sorting out schools. i went to both leeds and Goldsmiths and while leeds was much nicer to look at ... profs from goldsmiths had written a few of the text books that leeds used. and i think experience wise london is going to be better. and really who is going to visit me in leeds hahaha.
