OHHHHH BOOOY what a weekend!!
On monday/tuesday ish we (Yelba[Phoebe]) and i were discussing what we were going to do this weekend because we needed to get out of Aze is beautiful and all but frankly i needed out, so i remembered that Alison who i travelled with last year was living in Geneva and that i definitly should go to see her, and seeing as the train ticket to Geneva from Macon is only 18€ we decided that Geneva was the place to be!!!
So on friday Caffine drove us in to the station and after learning that the TGV doesnt leave from that station he negotiated our ticket and then drove us to the correct station....but we had an hour before the train soooo we sat at a bar and drank a beer and then he drove us:....he then decided that since i was in the trunk it would be funny to drive around a round about at top speed 3 times....goodtimes
So wwe got on our little train and off we went and we got in to Geneva at about 10:45 went through customs and it was very surreal to be somewhere random in Europe and feel like you know where you are going, i spent a lot of time at that train station before so Alison met us there and we took the Tram without paying cause the Swiss never check passes to her house about 20min away from the city centre
She is living in this cool coop thing, she is a intern at a bank and this company organized all the interns to live at this hotel/hostel/short term living place, it was small but vry cool
We met the other interns and they are all my age cause they just graduated so it was amazing to be around pepole my own age. They were all from Michigan donchaknow and fabulous we all sat out and drank the wine we brought from Macon...by far the best wine at the table and just got tipsy and chatted, they loved our camp stories and when you tell the stories it really does seem ridiculous, especially when Yelba and i are working for this American camp and neither of us are American.
So that was fun then the three of us squished into the room and slept got up early and went into the town for some shopping YEEEAAAHHHH
we found some fake native americans singing for money in french that was entertaining
HandM and another great store i got some cheap tshirts im starting to get bored with the ones i brought and im sick of mending clothes with my little sewing kit!!!
So then we split from the other interns and walked around old town and went by the hostel we stayed at last time(took a picture for you allie) and then we saw town hall went into the Cathedral finally and found a crazy park, played on that for a while....pictures to follow....and then treid to find lunch which took like an hour because we weere so indecisive we got pininnis and then we took the bus to the United Nations, walked randomly trying to find the entrance...found a bouncy barbie doll ball which i then hid but it got stolen, it was going to be someones gift but alas...
So we got in line for a tour of the UN and had to go through customs and then in the next line for visitors passes, i had to get my picture taken my passport checked...and the other two girls were put on as my guests so they werent checked at all, but the up side is that i now have a cool official visitors pass to the UN....my name is spelled wrong which is ridiculous becuase he had my passport but whatever!!!
The tour was possibly the most boring thing ever, the guide was awful and well it was just boring, but we chalked it up to being our cultural experience for the trip and bought posters to cheer ourselves up!!!
Then we got the tram back to buy chocolate and then back to Alisons
There Phoebe and i both fell asleep i was curled up in a ball and when i woke up my entire left leg was numb so good times
Alison cooked us dinner which was awesome and then we got ready to go out for the night, they told us about this club called Shakers, and it happened to be black and white night so we dressed up and out into the rain we went
The club was empty at 11:30 but by 12:30 it was packed they sell these shaked drinks that are 20€ but they have 7 shots in them and are sooooo lethal all you need is one, so we each had one and then danced all night
And then....i lost my glasses.....gone i freaked out a little and then they were found WOOOT unscratched and perfect....random
And so we started home at 3am and then decided to take the tram. But they actually asked for passes which we didnt have...so we decided to walk but it was only like 30 min and then the bus passed us and stopped at the next stop and then we lapped it and made it back to the house before the half of our group that went on the bus so go figure
We managed to get to bed at 4:30am and were up at 8:30 to catch our train wooooot
And so we met a nice couple at breakfast from Tennesse who talked to us about Michigan lol and then caught our train and ended up in a car full of english speaking people and i happened to commment loudly that this was a lot of English for a French bound train and i thus got a response that they were a university class on a trip abpout business, and they were from close to Kansas and so we chatted to the profs for a bit, they were heading to PAris for the last leg of their trip, it was really bizar!!
So that was our trip we had a fabulous time so funny and i managed to not get lost or end up in some sketchy persons house so over all id say i won
